I've been public hunting, so I have got nothing. I just found a place to go hog hunting, there is deer there also, but that county doesn't have the extended muzzle loader season, so I'll miss out on that, but hopefully I'll get some hog, and his pond had ducks when I went out to meet him. So I might get lucky there.

Ok since you twisted my arm
The first duck I shot---well it sank---he still gives me a hard time for saying that....it was my first time duck hunting and I was still a "city" girl at that time haha
and the second well....I dang near broke my nose from the shot gun

I know better and can shoot better now....but he still won't let me go Sad LOL

Funny thing is , these storys are the ones that stay, while others are forgot. These are the things that you will always be remembered by.

I know this is a little late, but I just found you guys. I bowhunted for the first time this year. Couldn't find affordable property big enough to rifle hunt. I ended up with 3 turkeys and 2 doe. What a rush!!

I live near Boerne, Tx. I was hunting on 38 acres on the edge of town in Eden, Tx.
I thought I was going to get skunked on deer this year, but took both of them on the last 2 days of the extended season. That made the hours and hours of seeing nada within range all year worth it.

Well congrats, you got 2 doe and 3 turkeys more than I did. I went public land, and only even saw 1 doe and she wasn't in range. I need to find a different public area for next year. I may look at public areas near Abeline for spring turkey this year.

I did see one nice buck that was 42 yards out. Since this was my first year bowhunting, I promised myself not to shoot at anything over 35 yards. That one tested me. Made my wife proud that I didn't "chance" it. Me too! ..He'll be there next year though, and I'm still practicing every evening in the back yard!

I've found that if I do 55 in my truck on a back road the deer will jump in front of me and commit suicide. Just Kidding, I got several deer last year, not as lucky this year. Will do better next year, I'm sure.
