Personal Goal

Ok guys/gals, I've started something today that i wanted to share with everyone. I know this is an outdoor forum and all but i feel like we can all call each other friends. I know i've gotten familiar with a few of ya'll on here just over the net and i know ya'll are a good group of guys and i just wanted to share some things with ya'll.

i'm in the military as most of ya'll if not everyone knows by now and well, the pt test has been kicking my butt the last few years. I've had a death in the family, a divorce, got off my walk with Christ and just had some real troubling issues with work. Well all this combined over the last few years has left me somewhat unfit and way out of shape. now i'm not a workout junkie or anything like that but i will be the first to admit i'm a little overweight and need to do something about it.

so what did i do? got my self some gear and picked up the p90x program. i picked all this up last week and now today i'm starting my first session. i'll be back in about an 1.5 hr to let ya'll know how it goes. i know its going to be tough and not an easy road over the next few months during this program but i feel it'll be good for me.

i MIGHT post some pics of me starting out, not sure yet cause i'm one of those that doesn't like putting myself out there and i dont like attention at all and i'm sure none of ya'll want to see my big gut on the net haha. however, if i dont post starting pics now i'll be sure and post up some before and afters at the end of my 90 days and we'll all compare and make fun and have a good time with it.

i'll try and keep this updated at least weekly if ya'll are interested in my progress and let ya'll know how its going with the program.

if not we can always just let this thread die lol. it wont hurt my feelings any at all, trust me! lol

ok guys/gals - that was the most intense workouts i have ever done in my life and i grew up in sports and military pt. i had to pause a few times and take some breathers and take a few puffs on my inhaler (thats right folks, i have exercise enduced asthma) and i'm still doing this!

this is definitly going to be challenging to say the least but i'm determined to stick with it and get results no matter what. who knows, with the loss in weight and strength gain my asthma problems could go away. wouldnt that be nice?!

well, i'm shaking so much trying to type this i'm hitting backspace more then i am letters i think so i'm get off here for about an hour but i'll be back when i'm a little calmer and can focus.

well guys, week 2 of the X is down and btw - i'm down about 6lbs now! the workout is intense and crazy and i can't keep up, however, i'm getting better and showing remarkible results. i feel better, sleep better, and i can tell i'm sliming down and getting stronger.

on a side note - i'm signed up a 5k (3mile) run in two weeks AND a 6k (4mile) run in April. so we'll see how that goes.

i'm bound and determined to get fit and healthy by June - what happens in June you say?

I'M GETTING MARRIED! gotta get my butt in some shape lol.

Thanks Cull, i'm looking at getting me a HD camcorder soon so maybe i can start doing filming of where i'm hunting and just some diferent outdoors stuff so i can share with everyone. just something i''m try and see how it works out.

Yeah man you should!! love to see what you get. Myself and a few charter members are
starting to film our hunts. Its a LEARNING process for sure.
Heck we got a few hunts recorded already just trying to edit seems to be the hardest part for me!! Good luck Brother!!!!

Good luck HG. I had a tough year as well. Cardiac ICU 2 weeks with a heart infection, now I have to have chemo treatments every 3 weeks. May will be 1 year of the treatments. They are working great! God is GOOD!

I just got into a program and am trying to lose my tool shed as well. You'd think all the puking I do would help!

Thanks, Cull. I feel blessed to have found you guys. We have much in common, regardless of where we are in life! Seems like people who appreciate the gifts God has given us in nature and wildlife will always pull together for the greater good!
