HOGS DOWN!!!!

Man what a wild afternoon...My dad went fishin so i loaded up the ol` Z71 and headed to the pig lease.... got set up in the blind that my dad hunts ...feeders goes off at 4pm and 630pm for a total of 15sec. Long about 5ish here come the cows but where just feeding along and moving on. Sitting there i was text meg. my hog huntin bud that had to go to a ball game with is son...

Texting back and forth i look up and saw a black spot in the brush.... before i new it there where 20-25 hogs under the feeder like a swarm of ants . There was a nice piebald but i let him walk cause there aint very many black and white hogs there mostly all black ones...So i pick out what i though was a sow and drop the hammer down ...Hog Down!!....Turn out to be a big boar so i take care of that one and there`s still time to hunt .

So i load up and move on to another blind and get set up. Not long after i hear hogs in the brush and one squealing but they never came to the feeder so by now its dark and getting kinda cool but i said to my self i`m gonna stay tell 730 and see what happens.

Right about 7:20 i see something like a shadow behind the feeder and though it was a coon...Got my gun up and and threw the scope i could see a big hog working it way in to the feeder so i reach up and turned on my Illuminated cross hairs and about this time the hog step in to the lights under the feeder and it was lights out!!...Time for a dirt nap!!...... Load up and got home before 10pm...Check out the pics...

Those are some good looking hogs...

Did I see that you said illuminated crosshairs??

Yep...Leupold 4 1/2 x 14 x 50 Illuminated...I love that scope allows me to hunt day or night with a few side walk solar lights around the feeder..... It a Blast!!!!

I get the lights at walmart two for 20 bucks.. They work great and dont spook the hogs......

RD - How long are your shots? Are you ever within bow range?

I like to get as close as i can... kinda makes your hair stand up on the back of your neck..haha!!.... i`ve taken hogs from 20yrs setting in the truck or using a pop up blind....The lulling place shots are about 70 yards give or take...Never been a bow hunter dont really have the muscle to pull one back....
