QUESTION ABOUT BOW HUNTIN..

At 4am Sunday morning in the deer camp me and my bud was watching a huntin show getting ready to head out to the blind. They where talking about bow huntin for deer and said a 30 yrd. shot on the ground is not the same a 30yrd shot from above, in a tree or what ever....

bud said 30 yards is 30 yards....i said maybe not because of the angle, tree limbs, ??

Thats true to an extent. The arrow will fly flat from and elivated angle. The biggest problem bow hunters have is when you look down on a deer say from 20 foot it looks smaller and a 30 yrd shot would look like a 40 yrd shot. Also if you dont practice from a elevated spot your form will change and put your shot off either by not bending at the waist or changeing your anchor point. but for the most part just aim a tad high to compensate for the flat flight and gravity and it works out great.

In short, you aim with the yardage pin for the horizontal distance to the target, not the Line of sight distance.
