SOWING IN
LEAN TIMES

Genesis 26:12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him. 13. The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous.

At one time Isaac was faced with a bad famine, but God told him to stay and plant seed. His harvest during the time of the drought was a hundredfold. This was because he was directed by the Lord and obeyed Him. Isaac’s neighbors planted nothing that year, and when the harvest came the Philistines envied him because they had no crops. They had to come to him to buy his crops if they wanted to stay alive. Later on the people ran out of money, and exchanged their animals for food. When they ran out of animals they had to work for the very man they hated. You might be in a time of unemployment or illness, don’t look at your lack, but look to the Lord to provide seed.

Prayer Thought

Banks may close and money may be devalued, but God’s Word is sure forever! Feed your spirit on faith building Word.

STOPPING
YOUR HARVEST

Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

Many Christians have planted seed in the past, expecting to get a harvest to meet their needs. Problems arose which caused them to stop planting, which may have been unemployment, illness, or accident. They now feel they can not continue to tithe, and plant additional seed. They stopped their giving, which stopped the harvest from coming. The moment you stop paying your tithes or claiming that you are sending it to a ministry that is not the one you normally attend, you step out of the protection of the Lord. You have just stepped into the hand of Satan, which allows him to start a bigger attack against you. This allows Satan to stop God from meeting your needs. Since when is Satan capable of stopping God from blessing you?

Prayer Thought

The Lord still sees the gift and the attitude of the giver. He also knows if you have reached a point of sacrifice in your giving.

ABUNDANCE FOR
EVERY GOOD WORK

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, have an abundance for every good work.

Once a man told me he was blessed, because his needs were being adequately met. I quickly told him that I wanted to build three churches in Botswana, and would appreciate it, if he would give me a check for one hundred thousand dollars. He answered “I’m not blessed that way.” The above verse states: “always having all sufficiency in all things, have an abundance for every good work.” I told him that building the churches in Botswana was a good work, which would qualify for the above verse. God wants to give you far more than you need so you can be a tremendous blessing for meeting the needs of many churches.

Prayer Thought

Learn to be generous with what God has given you. You can’t out-give the Lord. “Give and it will be given to you”. You are blessed to be a blessing!

GOD
REMEMBERS YOU

Hebrews 6:10 For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Some friends of mine had two sons who were in High School, and were asked if they were setting money aside for a college education for the boys. The answer was “No,” because they were putting the extra money in a missionary offering every month. They were told they were foolish, because the boys would not be able to go to college. God honored their faith because they were planting seed and expecting God to give the harvest for the boys education. On the nights of their graduations, both boys were called to the platform and given full scholarships for college. Ask the Lord where He wants you to plant, and what to plant. When you plant bountifully, in excess of your tithes, he gives you a bountiful Harvest.

Prayer Thought

“The thing you should want most is God’s kingdom and doing what God wants. Then all these other things will be given to you” Matthew 6:33 - N.C.V.

GIVING SEED
TO SOWERS

2 Corinthians 9:10 Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness.

You show you are a sower by your actions. On one occasion in Botswana, three people in our services had no money to give. One gave his watch, the second gave a pen, and the third gave a button from his shirt. What was the purpose of this? They wanted to show the Lord that they were sowers, and were now expecting Him to honor His Word. When you become willing to be a sower, and start to plant what little you have, you will find that God will provide more seed for you to plant. In addition He will meet your personal needs, as well as increase the fruits of your righteousness. The Lord does not want you to only believe for your personal needs, but expect Him to supply much more to pay for new church buildings.

Prayer Thought

Want more seed, want greater measure? Use what you have! You can’t have it all without giving your all!

TIPPERS INSTEAD
OF SOWERS

2 Corinthians 9:10 Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness.

Many Christians are not given seed because they are “tippers” and not “sowers.” A tip is given in a restaurant, etc., to the person who provides a service, but the tip does not pay for the items that are received. Lyton Kalembule is a man who started 200 churches in Malawi, Africa. Once he had been speaking to the people in a church about tithing, and later was walking in the woods with his two dogs. He told the Lord he had nothing to give, but wanted to be an example to the people. Just then a leopard appeared ahead of him. He immediately thanked the Lord, then turned the dogs loose on the leopard, and a few minutes later they killed it. He sold the meat in the village and had money for his offering.

Prayer Thought
We’re not working for a “living” - we’re working for the “giving”. God will pass over one thousand men to find one with faith! Smith Wiggleswor

FIXED INCOME

Ephesians 6:6 Not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart 7. with good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men.

Many believers have low paying positions, or a fixed income, but feel they are unable to plant more. God told you, He supplies seed to sowers. Choose to become a sower, then God will supply the seed. Many eat part, or all of the seed God supplies instead of planting it. God wants you to eat from the harvest, instead of eating the seed. He is expecting to give you a harvest over and over again, because you will be frequently planting. You may have felt the job you have pays very little, so ask the Lord to make you a blessing to your boss, because you reap what you sow. When you start to sow good seed at work, you will find the boss will be blessed. God will then cause the boss or someone else to start blessing you.

Prayer Thought

Everything originates from a seed. Seed produces after it’s own kind. Your harvest depends totally on what you sow. How the seed grows is not your job - your job is to water and protect. It germinates and grows.

LITTLE
TO PLANT

Mark 12:43 - 44 The truth is that this poor widow gave more to the collection than all the others put together. All the others gave what they’ll never miss; she gave extravagantly what she couldn’t afford - she gave her all. - The Message.

Paul and Jan Crouch, of Trinity Broadcasting Company, held meetings in Haiti. In one church they didn’t want to take an offering because the people were very poor. The pastor refused because he didn’t want to rob the people of a blessing. As the offering was taken they noticed one woman did not have any money to give. The most precious thing she had with her was her well worn Bible. She quietly opened it up and tore out a page, which she put in the offering. At the close of the service Jan ran to the car and brought in a box of Bibles to give to the woman, in her own language. The lady had given a page of her best possession, but was given a box of Bibles, as her harvest.

Prayer Thought

God honored her faith, and enabled her to give many Bibles away. Don’t copy her unless the Lord directs you, otherwise all you will have is a torn Bible. Sow in faith - reap a blessing!

STARTING WHERE YOU ARE
Luke 16:10 If you’re honest in small things, you’ll be honest in big things; if you’re a crook in small things, you’ll be a crook in big things. If you’re not honest in small jobs, who will put you in charge of the store? - The Message.

Generosity should start with your poverty, so when you are well off, you will have developed the habit of giving. When you are generous with your whole life, you will be generous with your giving. When you are stingy with your whole life, you will be reluctant to give as well. Many people have said they could not afford to pay their tithes now, but in the meantime they are only “tipping” the Lord and become stingy people. They say when they get a lot of money they will give large amounts to the church. They are only fooling themselves if they think they will change when they get rich. Jesus shows in the verses that you will not change.

Prayer Thought

Do I trust in the world and it’s systems to meet my needs, or do I believe in God to meet my needs? Transfer your thoughts to the Lord and His thoughts - not worry!

WHATEVER A MAN SOWS

Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

People who sow carnal seed will always reap a harvest of carnality. They will think like the world, but be unable to understand the things of the Lord. Christians who are constantly filling their spirits with the promises of God, and applying them, will see a harvest for their efforts as well. Financial freedom and giving are directly linked together. There can be no financial freedom through divine help, without giving. God wants to bless you, so you can be a blessing to others. A blessing is an instrument of God, through which His divine favor flows through you to someone else. If you are not willing to be a blessing to others, you will find that God’s blessings will stop coming to you. When you make giving a part of your nature, then you will progressively see God’s blessings on your life increase.

Prayer Thought

If you limit God’s plan to your logic - you’ll fail. God’s Word will not work for you - unless you apply it!

SEED
FAITH GIVING
2 Corinthians 9:6 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

If you were to go to the grocery store and try to buy two week’s supply of groceries for a family of six, with only twenty dollars would this be buying sparingly or bountifully? You would think that this would be very sparingly. If twenty dollars is considered sparingly at the grocery store, why do people think that they are sowing bountifully if they give twenty dollars in a church offering? It is still the same amount of money. In the eyes of God it would be considered planting bountifully if that was all you had, and you had been faithful in tithing. A farmer who plants seed must water it. A person who is directed by the Lord to give into some ministry, must water his seed as well. Your harvest for what you planted will come as you pray for the ministry you planted into.

Prayer Thought

A man’s harvest in life depends entirely on what he sows. You get what you say whether you like it or not. Be a giver - be blessed!

GIVING OUT OF LOVE

2 Corinthians 9:7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

Some Christians are like the little girl who sat next to her father one service. He had given her a dollar to put in the offering, and reminded her that God loves a cheerful giver. She began to whisper to the usher when the offering plate came around. Her father wanted to know what was the problem. The usher told him that his daughter wanted change for the dollar. Her father told her to put the money in, because God loves a cheerful giver. The child’s immediate response was, “But I’d be a lot more cheerful if I had change for a candy bar.”

Another problem is spasmodic planting. Some only plant when there is a special appeal, or when they feel like it. The person who consistently plants, will see the desired harvest. Give to God because you want to, not because you have to.

Prayer thought

You can give to God without loving Him, but can’t love Him without giving to Him. The human spirit once stretched by an adventure of faith, will never return to it’s original size!

PERSONAL
PROFIT

John 12:24 Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.

God expects you to start planting seed above the “rent” if you want to receive a harvest. Often Christians resemble “squatters” by the way they treat the Lord. They refuse to pay “rent” for all of His blessings, then wonder why they have problems. The tithe or “rent” is not to be used to meet your personal obligations. Your offerings are not “seed” if you expect personal recognition or gain, they must become useless or dead, releasing all personal claim to the giver. Some have stopped giving because they have felt that the Pastor or Church Board was acting irresponsibly. This can be changed by prayer, but is not an excuse for you to stop obeying the Lord in your giving. When you freely give to God, He freely blesses you.

Prayer Thought

If you major in what’s right in God’s sight, you don’t have to worry about what it will look like in man’s eyes.

GOD’S PROMISES ARE VALUABLE
Isaiah 55:11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Over the years all of us have been promised things that never took place. Politicians, attorneys, doctors, as well as many other professionals have made promises that they could not back up. Many times these people had good intentions, but circumstances prevented them from fulfilling the promise. God is not only able to fulfill the promises He makes, but also tells you He will fulfill them. The Bible is full of His promises, He wants you to depend on them, and apply them to the situations you are in. Look for ones that will overcome the problems your are in today. Next, ask Him what His will is for you, because sometimes the timing is not right. Always expect Him to honor His promises in your life.

Prayer Thought

Focus on God’s promises - not on the problems. For no promise of God can fail to be fulfilled. Luke 1:37- Phillips.

GUARDING YOUR WORDS

Ephesians 3:20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.

The spirit world is controlled by the power of God that is released through the Word of God. The natural world is to be controlled by man through the power of God, and is done by quoting God’s promises in the Bible. These spoken words become creative power, because God’s power is already at work in you. In Proverbs 6:2 Solomon tells you that you become trapped by the words of your mouth. Your words become tools to allow the power of God to flow through you which will work for or against you, depending on what you say. Negative words which contradict the promises of God, cause His power to produce the things you don’t want in your life. Guard your words so that you say what you want, instead of what you don’t want.

Prayer Thought

You never have to take back what you don’t say. Your mouth must take authority over your thoughts!

WATCH HOW
YOU HEAR

Mark 4:24 And He said to them, “Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given.

Luke 8:18 Therefore take heed how you hear. For whoever has, to him more will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he seems to have will be taken from him.

Many people fill their minds with trivial things or allow distractions to keep God’s good seed from being planted in their spirits. You are told to watch what you hear, as well as to watch how you hear. The people who are not paying attention to this, will find their faith becoming ineffective. The more you pay attention to the teachings of God, the more He allows you to receive. Paying less attention to His promises, causes faith in His promises to diminish.

Prayer Thought

Defeat comes from looking back, distractions comes from looking down. Victory comes from looking up!

A CLEAN LIFE

2 Corinthians 7:1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

God has many wonderful promises for us, but many times we are prevented from receiving them because of a lack of holiness. In the above verse you are told to cleanse yourself from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, because you can be influenced by the things of the world. Picture in your mind a lady with a white dress standing at the corner, waiting to cross the street. A car comes around the corner and splashes muddy water on her dress. She was not responsible for the action of the driver, but she was affected by his actions. There will be times when you are affected by attitudes or thoughts which are not the will of the Lord for your life. Allow the Holy Spirit to remind you, then take control, asking God to direct you.

Prayer Thought

“Cleanse my heart, oh Lord, make me ever new. Cleanse my heart, oh Lord, may I be like You.”

PERFECTED IN HOLINESS
2 Corinthians 7:1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Perfecting holiness in a person’s life seems to be a foreign language to some people. One of the steps to this is “in the fear of God.” The fear of the Lord is a referential trust and becomes a controlling motive of life concerning spiritual and moral matters. Your greatest desire is not wanting to displease Him in thought, word or deed. People may tell you, “That is easier said than done,” however it is very possible when you put the Lord in first place in your life and expect the Holy Spirit to direct you on an hourly basis. The Lord wants to help you, by working through you, to show the world that He is in control, and will enable you to overcome the satanic attacks. Expect to see victory in your life today.

Prayer Thought

Ask Him for help - He’s just waiting to be asked. Why not let God have your life? He can do more with it than you can!

PUTTING ON THE NEW MAN

Ephesians 4:24 And that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in righteousness and true holiness.

Your old nature which came from Adam and Eve is frequently rebellious toward the things of God. It wants to have its own way, instead of allowing the Holy Spirit control your life. Getting even for wrongs done to you, are frequent thoughts that will come to the person with this nature. Romans 12:19 tells us that vengeance is God’s, and He will repay. The person who has determined to live in righteousness and true holiness will commit his problem to the Lord and allow Him to take care of the results. The old thoughts will still come, but you don’t need to let them lodge in your mind. God wants to help you, but He is expecting you to use the tools He has given you. One of them is the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, Ephesians 6:17.

Prayer Thought

Planting good or bad seed is our choice of what kind of harvest we expect. All of the flowers of all of the tomorrows are in the seeds of today.

WORSHIPING IN THE
BEAUTY OF HOLINESS

Psalm 29:2 Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

Throughout the Bible you are encouraged to first approach God through praise and worship. A secret few realize is that God’s power starts to be released to you through true praise. The evil forces realize this, and will give you thoughts to try to distract you when you start to praise the Lord. Why do people not see many victories during the time of praise and worship in some places? They may not be expecting answers, and are not believing for them. However a bigger reason is some may not be worshiping in the beauty of holiness. In the sight of the Lord true holiness is not a part of your nature, and it gets covered up by a religious mask. The time will come when this mask will be ripped off and will be exposed. Start every day with praise and worship, then ask for divine guidance.

Prayer Thought

Praise cleanses, praise changes you into His image, and praise strengthens. Make it a habit to form good habits; they’re as hard to break as bad ones.

CONTROLLING OUR
THOUGHT LIFE

2 Corinthians 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5. casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

Spiritual battles start in your mind to try to get you sidetracked to stop you from obeying the plan of the Lord. You have the responsibility to take control of your thoughts. Once I was talking with a man, and a young lady with a loose fitting blouse, was standing next to him. She dropped her keys, and bent down to pick them up. I immediately looked at the man’s face, so that I would not see her bending over. I said to myself: “I don’t need that information.” When you frequently have the attitude that “one look is worth a thousand words,” you may open the door for the satanic forces to build strongholds in your mind.

Prayer Thought

The Bible makes an astonishing promise: “That out of your weakness shall come strength,” Hebrews 11:34. Where you are weak, you will be made strong!

HOLY FOR THE LORD
1 Thessalonians 3:13 So that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.

When I was four years old I went with my grandparents to the Cape (South Africa), and one day we were walking on a pier overlooking the Indian Ocean. My grandfather was holding my hand when suddenly a strong gust of wind lifted me completely off my feet. My grandfather held tightly to my hand to keep me from being blown away. You can be held by the Lord to keep you from slipping away from a life of holiness. If you try to pull away or frequently depend on your own understanding, instead of allowing Him to direct you, you will start to slip out of His control. Your desire should be to have your heart established in holiness before God, to enable you to be blameless before Him. Ask the Holy Spirit to direct you in everything you do today!

Prayer Thought

It’s up to you how you act or react. You’re going to have trouble, but see to it you’re not troubled. If you never have trouble, you’ll never be an over-comer.

GIVING GLORY
DUE HIS NAME!

1 Chronicles 16:29 Give to the Lord the glory due His name; bring an offering, and come before Him. Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness!

God expects everyone to give glory due His name when they worship Him, and the first requirement is a right attitude during worship. Since worship and praise can be given to the Lord in any location or circumstance, maintain an attitude that will enable you to burst forth in praise and worship in every situation. You may say that this will be impossible, however if this was not possible, Paul would not have said, “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you,” 1 Thess. 5:18. Two more things that are brought out are to bring an offering and to worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. Both of these are lacking in the lives of many who claim to be Christians. Determine in your heart that you are going to obey the Lord and be an example to others.

Prayer Thought

Christians have what the world needs, but do you live so they want what you have? Persons thankful for little things, are certain to be the ones with much to be thankful for!

PRAISING THE LORD

Psalm 22:3 But You are holy, Who inhabit the praises of Israel.

God inhabits the praises of His people! You need to realize that when you are praising the Lord, the presence of the Lord is filling the place you are in. There are possibly more verses in the Bible devoted to praise and worship than any other subject. Take a look at how much time you spend complaining or worrying, in comparison to time spent praising the Lord for the answers. When you praise the Lord, you allow the Holy Spirit to work through you. He will drive away the spirits of doubt, fear, unbelief, or any other kind of satanic spirit that might be trying to affect you. God has instructed you many times in the Bible to spend time praising Him. The more you sincerely praise the Lord, the more He will give you something to praise Him about. Put Him to the test today, and start expecting to see results.

Prayer Thought

If you want God to move in your situation, you’ve got to praise Him! The key to moving God is faith in God’s Word bathed in praise!

HEAVEN IS A
HOLY PLACE

Psalm 93:5 Your testimonies are very sure; holiness adorns Your house, O Lord, forever.

Heaven is adorned with holiness, which means NO one who is not holy will enter Heaven. Many claim they are on their way to Heaven, but will find when they pass away, they will be turned down. Matthew 7:21 states, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.” Church attendance alone does not make a person holy, neither do good works. It’s not outward appearance, but an inward lifestyle that really counts. Obeying God’s commandments and living for Him in thought, word and deed start the process. God wants to work in and through you in a great way, but He needs a full commitment on your part. Jesus tells you, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Prayer Thought

“Lord, make my life a window for your light to shine through, and a mirror to reflect your love to all I meet.” - R. Schueller.

LIVING IN
HOLINESS

1 Thessalonians 4:7 For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness.

The opposite of holiness, in the above verse, is uncleanness. In the eyes of the Lord people who are not living holy lives are unclean, sometimes in thoughts, words or actions. There are times when someone may come to your door, and you really didn’t want to see them, but responded with, “I’m so happy to see you.” Another example is when you owe some money, but don’t have it at the time, but find yourself saying on the phone, “The check is already in the mail.” Both examples are untruthful statements, and in the eyes of the Lord, this is not living a holy life. The biggest loss that occurs in many businesses is not from break-ins, but from the employees themselves. The attitude, “it’s not much” when taking something, is still robbing the person of holiness. Serve the Lord whole heartedly, instead of only part time.

Prayer Thought

The practice of honesty is more convincing than the profession of holiness. So live that Christ will be seen in all your dealings.

ENTWINED
WITH THE LORD

Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait (entwine themselves) on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

In 1945 while visiting a school in the Livingstone Mountains, I noticed a tool with hooks that rotated in different directions when turned. I tied vines to the hooks and turned the handle, and in a short while I had a rope made from the vines, which was a lot stronger than a single vine. As strands of hemp are entwined together to become rope, so the Lord wants you to be entwined with Him. As you become entwined with Him, you start to drop off things of the old nature that are displeasing to Him, and start reflecting His nature in a greater way in your life. Holiness is one of the characteristics of His nature, and needs to be developed in a greater way in your life. Spend more time “making love” with Jesus today.

Prayer Thought

In the cooking process of making jam, the impurities come to the surface and must be skimmed off. As our lives are in the “making”, God’s Holy Spirit removes impurities so that your lives are His reflection.

SET FREE FROM SIN

Romans 6:22 But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.

A transformation takes place in your life as you determine in your spirit that you will not conform to or imitate the world. There must be a determination on your part to completely follow the Lord. Sometimes temptations will be hard to resist, however the Lord is always ready to help you. 1 Corinthians 10:13 tells you, “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” Determine to totally follow the Lord, regardless of what others are doing. As temptations come, use Scripture to come against them , which will enable you to be victorious.

Prayer Thought

Darkness knows it has no strength against the person who is focused on Christ! If you’re ever going to “walk on water” you’re going to have to get out of the boat!

A CROP OF HOLINESS

Galatians 6:8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.

Living a holy life doesn’t come by accident, it takes persistence. It’s easy to slide down a hill, but it’s a lot more difficult to climb the hill. Sowing to the flesh is easy, because the majority of the world is doing it. The theme of the Book of Judges is, “Everyone did what was right in his own eyes.” A crop of holiness is possible when you make a decided effort to have a lifestyle of holiness. Your primary goal is to please the Lord in thought, word and deed. When you make this your focus, you find the Lord enables you to reach your goal. The ultimate goal is everlasting life, and being with the Lord for all of eternity. Some will leave you alone because they don’t like your lifestyle, yet others, when they run into a real emergency will ask you to pray for them.

Prayer Thought

Success is to be measured, not so much by the position that one has reached in life, as by the obstacles which he has overcome while trying to succeed.

HOLINESS -
DEAD TO SIN

Romans 6:11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. 12. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. 14. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

Once a lady told me that we were only human and each of us had to sin a little every day. She was greatly mistaken because you have been redeemed from the power of sin, and are no longer a slave to it. When you are tempted you have a choice. You can yield to it, or you can pay attention to what James 4:7 states: “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” The enemy has to leave with his temptation when you come against Him in the name of Jesus. Don’t be fooled by the idea that you have no choice. God not only gave you a choice, but the ability to resist all temptations.

Prayer Thought

Wishing will never make a substitute for prayer. Ask! God has decreed to act in response to prayer. “Ask” He commands you, and Satan trembles for fear you will. It’s your choice.

October 15

LIVING A HOLY LIFE

Colossians 3:8 But now you must also put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.

Living a holy life is not a list of do’s and don’ts, but a lifestyle of a person who no longer has the desire to mimic the ways of the world. A young lady got saved and started to witness to her brother. He asked her what being a Christian was all about, and she immediately gave him a list of things he shouldn’t do. He turned her down, but six months later accepted the Lord. He came back to her and told her what had happened. Then he told her that if she had explained the good side of being a Christian, he would have accepted the Lord the first time. Putting off the things listed in the above verse, will not become a drudgery, but you will find the Lord takes away the desire to do them. You are given new desires because the Holy Spirit is being allowed to control your life.

Prayer Thought

God is looking for men and women who will stand on His Word, believing that if He said it, He will do it, and if He spoke it, He will bring it to pass. - R. W. Schambach.

CREATED IN GOD’S IMAGE

Genesis 1:26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

God was not created in your image, you were created in His image. He is expecting you to reflect His image in your life, which should attract others to desire to be like Him. A child may not look like its parents as a baby, but as time progresses, its features will reflect those of its parents. Holiness is the key to your reflecting the Lord in a greater way. A commitment to live a holy life will enable you to drop off things or habits that don’t reflect His image. Matthew 5:16 tells you, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Reflect Him more daily.

Prayer Thought

The health of a garden plant or a heart devoted to God, reflects what’s going on (or not going on) underground.

JUSTIFIED BY
OBEDIENCE

Romans 2:13 For not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified.

Justification is an often misunderstood word, because many think its the same as regeneration, which is the new birth. The new birth involves your personal inner condition, whereas justification has to do with your standing before God. You are declared righteous in the sight of God, when you accept the payment for your sins, which was paid by Jesus on the cross. Your standing before God will be affected by your lifestyle. Falling short of His expectations for you, will not remove your standing before Him, providing you come to Him and ask for forgiveness. The problem comes when your lifestyle is one of being a hearer of the Word, and not a doer of it. Proverbs 28:13 says, “He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.”

Prayer Thought

It’s easy to dodge your responsibility, but you can’t dodge its consequences. When you’re exonerated, you’re justified, (as if you never did it,) so - walk forgiven.

A DAILY CLEANSING

John 15:3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.

People wash on a daily basis, and the person who does not wash himself very often, will get problems. The same thing is true with the spirit of the person. You must be cleansed daily. Take time to study your Bible on a daily basis, because Jesus shows you that this will cause you to be cleansed from the contamination of the world. Cleansing continues to take place as long as you believe the promises of God that you read. Problems come when you don’t read God’s Word on a consistent basis. Most of the time these are not sins against God, but are problems and attitudes of man against man. A shortcoming continued, becomes sin and is rebellion against God, which is not covered by the blood. Changing your ways and becoming obedient to God’s will, will bring you back under His protection.

Prayer Thought

What if God couldn’t take the time to bless you today, because you couldn’t take the time to thank Him yesterday? Failures are divided into those who thought and never did, and those who did and never thought.

LIVING A HOLY LIFE

Romans 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2. Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?

Sanctification and a holy life are the fruits of justification. To remain justified, it is necessary for you to maintain a holy life. Hebrews 12:14 tells you, “Pursue peace with all men, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.” Living in sin is contrary to the nature and will of God, and becomes a stench in His nostrils. Some feel they can continue to be a Christian, and live a sinful life as well. They are mistaken, and unless they choose to change their ways, will find they will be rejected by the Lord in the end. You are to be a reflection of the character and nature of Jesus, which is wholly dedicated to the Lord. Remember, the Holy Spirit is here to help you live for the Lord, moment by moment. Allow Him to help you.

Prayer Thought

When the storms strike, it’s what happens “in” you that will determine what happens “to” you. It’s not the size of your faith that counts but the God behind your faith!

PEACE AND HOLINESS

Hebrews 12:14 Pursue peace with all men, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.

The actions of the people of the world are based on the theme of the book of Judges, which is, “Everyone did what was right in his own eyes,” Judges 17:6. You can’t afford to follow in their ways if your desire is to be a reflection of Jesus. Holiness and peace are necessary to qualify you to see the Lord. Some will compromise to have peace without conflict, but don’t consider the necessity of holiness in their actions. They mix all kinds of worldliness with their Christianity, hoping the Lord will overlook it. There are others who have a bitter spirit, or refuse to forgive others, and fail to realize this disqualifies them from a life of holiness. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you if there is anything displeasing to the Lord in your life today. Find out how He wants you to resolve the issue, so that you can be pleasing to Him in every area of your life.

Prayer Thought

Nothing you produce out of you will make it. - “God empty me of me and fill me with You.” Your own thoughts and attitudes are the devil’s armor.

October 22

PURIFYING YOURSELF

1 John 3:2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 3. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

As a Child of God you have a great promise, of the day that will come when you will be like Him, and will see the Lord as He is. God has given you the obligation to purify yourself if you want to see the fulfilment of this promise. He has given you a new nature, as well as the ability to say NO to temptation. John 15:3 points out that you are cleansed because of the Word. This will not take place if you keep your Bible on a shelf, but will only happen if you read and apply it. Learn to love to read your Bible; ask the Lord to enable you to understand and apply it. This will cause you to become a strong Christian.

Prayer Thought

Pray that God will create in you such an all-consuming hunger to know Him in a greater way, and to long to follow Him. All He wants and needs is a hungry willing heart.

KEEPING GOD’S
COMMANDMENTS

John 14:21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.

Jesus states that your love for Him will be demonstrated by the way you keep His commandments. Many say they love the Lord, but their love is only a superficial one, because they are not really obeying His will for their lives. Notice the next thing mentioned in the above verse. You are loved by the Father because you keep His commandments. Jesus will manifest Himself to you, as you spend more time with Him and get to know Him better. Is the real desire of your life to follow the Lord at a distance, and still make it to Heaven? Or is your desire to be as close to Him as possible, so that you will have a very intimate relationship with Him? You are the one to make the choice.

Prayer Thought

To each of you is given a bag of tools, a shapeless mass and a book of rules. And each must make ere life is flown, a stumbling block or a stepping stone.

LIVING A PURE LIFE

1 Peter 2:11 Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul (mind).

God and His Word must always be primary in your life, your thoughts and motives. Any thought that is contrary to these goals must be turned down. The enemy cannot read your mind, but will give you thoughts and then watch your reactions and facial expressions to see how you respond. Be on guard at all times, because he will come when you least expect it. His purpose is to get you side-tracked from the Lord’s will for you. There will be times when you are praying, and a thought will come to you which was not of the Lord. 1 John 4:1 tells you to test the spirits. False prophets are around because they failed to test the messages or thoughts they had, then claimed they were messages from the Lord. The Lord will give you peace when the message is from Him.

Prayer Thought

Be encouraged! God will use everything in your life to prepare you for His glory, even your failures. God likes to work in such a way that He gets all the glory.

HOLY IN ALL CONDUCT

1 Peter 1:14 As obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; 15. but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16. because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”

God is a holy God, and has called you to live a holy life in all your conduct. There will be things you could do and get away with, but these would detract from the reflection of God’s nature in you. A pastor was once asked to go with a couple to a questionable play. He declined, so they told him it would not affect his salvation. His response was, “If I was a surgeon and had just gotten ready to perform surgery, would I become contaminated if I took out the garbage? The answer was yes, so he told them he could not afford to become contaminated by the play if they expected him to be an effective counselor. Be directed by the Holy Spirit, so you will be able to be used by Him.

Prayer Thought

Don’t let the world around you squeeze you into it’s mold. If you are the salt of the earth, then you have to get out of the saltshaker. Even if you’re as small as a grain of salt, the world needs salt for flavoring.

WALKING IN HOLINESS

1 Thessalonians 4:7 For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness.

Temptations will often come to try to get you to turn from a life of holiness. Frequently these are not what people call sins, but are thoughts to get you to follow the ways of the world. Two of the most common are unforgiveness and a root of bitterness. People seem to forget Matthew 6:14-15, “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Unforgiven sin in a person’s life, is the same as living in sin, which if not cleansed will keep the person out of Heaven. God called you to a holy life, which starts with your thoughts. Keep your thoughts from going into wrong areas, by asking the Lord to help you control your thoughts, so that you will always be pleasing to Him.

Prayer Thought

Christian love can’t function without forgiveness, any more than a bird can fly without two wings. Love doesn’t keep a record of sins and failures of others.

DEDICATED TO HOLINESS

1 Corinthians 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20. For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

The battle for salvation was won on the cross and in the empty tomb, but the battle for surrendering to the will of God, is won by relying on God’s power in the daily decisions of your life. God paid a very high price for your redemption, and doesn’t want to lose you. He is expecting you to glorify Him, by living a holy life that’s pleasing to Him, giving Him your best. The secret is to run from things that will pull you down. When you are tempted to do something wrong, start thinking about a Scripture to come against it. Quote that verse to the enemy, because that acts as a sword to cause him great pain.

Prayer Thought

You can never become what you want to be until you drop what you used to be. Trouble is going to come, but it doesn’t have to overcome. Resist the enemy and he MUST to flee.

HOLY AND
WITHOUT BLAME
Ephesians 1:4 Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love.

The above verse points out that you are held blameless before God. This does not give you the right to go out and sin any time you want to, but you have the assurance that every time you ask for His forgiveness, God will hear you and remove the sin from your life, see 1 John 1:9. You are under this protection as long as you continue to place your faith in Jesus. When you take your eyes off the Creator, and spend more time looking or lusting after part of His creation, you will start to slip out from under the protection that was made available to you. Problems come when you rely on your own strength and walk away from His protection, which is a choice on your part. Keep your eyes on God’s wonderful grace, and remain under His protection.

Prayer Thought

Remember the old song? “Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face; and the things of this old world will go strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.”

John 15:8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

God will not allow His power to be used through a carnal Christian. Some Christians have two sides to their nature. The one side is seen at church or among the people from church, whereas the other side is seen at the workplace. These Christians will not bear any fruit. There must be self-discipline, and your lives must line up with what the Bible teaches. Jesus has given you Power of Attorney, and in acting on His behalf, you have to conduct yourself as He would conduct Himself. You may be tempted to “tell a person off,” but what would Jesus do? You may want to “pay a person back,” or have mean thoughts about a person, but what would Jesus do? Isaiah 53 shows how Jesus was mistreated, but did not retaliate. As you trust Jesus, He will give you power to live up to these standards.

Prayer Thought

You can do what God says you can do. Affirm these words, “I am who God says I am. I have what God says I have. I can do what God says I can do.”

CONTROLLING
THE CARNAL NATURE

Galatians 5:24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Taking control of the carnal nature is a very difficult task for some people, because they frequently fall back into sin. With some it’s easy losing their temper, with others it might be bad language, gossip, or many other problems. Why is it so difficult to gain victory over a situation? One night a little boy fell out of bed, so his mother asked him why it happened. He told her he guessed he was too close to the edge he got in. When you stay too close to the ways of the world, it will be easy to fall back into their ways. The secret of success in the Christian life is to see how close you can get to the Lord. Keep a very short list of things you have done wrong by going to the Lord as soon as you are reminded of wrong doing. He will immediately forgive you, and not hold it against you.

Prayer Thought

Stay so far from the problem that you can’t possibly fall. There’s a saying, “Don’t make love to the world or you’ll get pregnant with the thinking of the world.”

GOD’S FAITHFULNESS

Deuteronomy 7:9 Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments.

God will not go back on His promises or His covenant to His people. This faithfulness extends to all people in every country, but it does have a condition. Notice the latter part of the verse which is, “With those who love Him and keep His commandments.” Many tell the Lord they love Him, but don’t really keep His commandments, or remain in the center of His will. Some will treat what He wants them to do as if they are only suggestions. It is not surprising that His protection is withdrawn during a time of need. Don’t blame the Lord if this happens to you if you have not really remained in the center of His will.

Prayer Thought

Trust the promises of God, they will NEVER fail you. Test them, try them and depend on them. If you’re ever going to walk on water, you’re going to have to get out of the boat.

COMING BACK
TO THE LORD

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

When you refuse to come and ask for forgiveness you voluntarily walk out from under God’s protection. The protection you once had is no longer available. Before you walked away from the protection of the Lord, you did not receive some of the attacks of the enemy. God was preventing Satan from bringing them to you, because of a wall of protection that was put around you. As soon as you walk away, the wall of protection is no longer available. You now find that the attacks of the enemy seem to be coming on you in a greater way. Exodus 34:7 tells you that even though His mercy and kindness reaches out generation after generation, it will not clear the guilty. Only your faith in the sacrifice of Jesus will permit God to clear you.

Prayer Thought

Forgiveness is the key that unlocks the door of resentment and the handcuffs of hate. It’s a power that breaks the chains of bitterness and the shackles of selfishness. The Lord is in the cleaning business, not the whitewashing business!

GUARDING YOUR MOUTH

Psalm 141:3 Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips.

Controlling the words of your mouth are easier said than done, because something may slip out when you least expect it. The Psalmist asks the Lord to set a guard over his mouth, because he knows how difficult it is to accomplish it himself. Start the day in prayer asking the Lord to help you with your words. Pray during the day, then close the day in prayer. God will give directions for your daily activities because of prayer. Breakdowns in peoples lives invariable didn’t come all of a sudden, but usually occur because of small breakdowns in Bible reading and prayer over a period of time. The attitude of some is, “That won’t happen to me because I’m too strong a Christian.” Don’t believe it, because the enemy will be after you in a bigger way. Go back to the Word, then pray the Word, then expect the Lord to help you.

Prayer Thought

If you don’t want it - don’t say it. Your words are seeds you plant and then wonder where the crop comes from. Never again speak what you don’t expect to receive. A lot of things are opened by mistake, but none so often as the mouth.

DON’T LIVE IN
FEAR OF FAILURE

John 15:3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.

The atoning blood of Jesus keeps on flowing to cleanse you all the time because you are His. You are not cleansed just by verbal confession because your lips can say words you don’t mean. Your true confession comes from the heart when your sincere desire is to please Him. God loves you so much that He wants you to know that you don’t have to live in fear of failure in word, thought or deed. When little things divert your attention, a little temper rises or a bad attitude creeps in and you temporarily forget to ask God’s forgiveness for it. He looks at your heart and your intentions. You are justified under the new law because of what Jesus did when He died for you, and that precious blood continues to cleanse as long as you want to stay under the covering God provided.

Prayer Thought

Faith becomes fear when you fail to use it. On the other end of faith is fear. If you stumble or fall, ask His forgiveness, get up and go on. He’s always there to help.

VIRTUE

2 Peter 1:5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge.

All of you are desirous of increasing your faith so that you will be able to get your prayers answered. This is possible as you spend more time studying your Bible, see Romans 10:17. Peter tells you to add virtue to your faith. Some of the dictionary definitions are, goodness, moral excellence and purity. Virtue seems to be lacking in the lives of many who call themselves Christians. Their attitude is that it’s not necessary unless they are caught. God has a different idea for you, and expects you to fulfill this command in your life if you are going to spend eternity with Him. The first step that is necessary is to have a desire to be virtuous. Next it is necessary to allow him to point out the things that are missing the mark in your life. Ask Him to make you fit for the Master’s use.

Prayer Thought

When you’re tempted to not do what you know is right, recognize where the temptation is originating. Resist the devil vigorously so that he will feel like a lion in the den with Daniel.

November 5

GOD’S LOVE IN YOU

John 17:26 And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.

The love God the Father had for His Son, is the same quality He has for each one who has accepted Jesus as their personal Savior. He wants this love to continue to grow in you, but it’s up to you to accept or reject it. A person may say they love the Lord, but actions will speak louder than words. You show your love for Him in a variety of ways, and one of them is longing to be in His presence. Does it seem to be drudgery when its necessary to go to a prayer meeting? If a meal was going to be served during the time of a prayer meeting, possible three times as many people would show up, than if there was no meal served. God wants you to love Him for who He is, and not what you can get out of Him. Develop a love life with Him through prayer and study His Word, and see Him greatly respond.

Prayer Thought

The truest end of life is to know the life that never ends. Is your passport for eternity in order? Don’t put it off, you may need it sooner than you think.

GOD TEMPTS NOBODY

James 1:13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.

When two magnets are placed end to end, one of two things will happen. The first is that the two will be drawn together, whereas when you reverse one of the magnets, the two will repel each other. This is like the nature of God. Holiness is part of the nature of God, which has a drawing action to draw you to Him when you want to serve Him. Just as when one of the magnets is reversed, the holy nature of God is repulsed by sin, and people with sin in their lives are pushed further from Him. He sends the Holy Spirit to bring you back to Him, but you have to be willing to have a change take place in your life, if you want to see a close bonding with Him. God will not tempt you, so stay close to Him and His Word, then temptation will not become a problem for you.

Prayer Thought

Do not worry or fret that God has given more faith to others than He has given to you. Rest assured in the fact that God has imparted enough faith to you to make sure you are covered from head to toe.

GROUNDED
IN THE LORD

Colossians 2:6 As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7. rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

One of the tall trees of the Western United States has a shallow root system for the size of tree. These trees withstand all types of storms and grow to a great age. The secret for their success is that the root system of each tree becomes inter-twined with the other trees near it. In order to blow one tree down, many others would have to be blown down at the same time. The more you are rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, the harder it becomes for the enemy to knock you down. The enemy looks around for the “loner” to tempt him into quitting, but this becomes a lot more difficult when you are being encouraged by other believers. Ask the Lord to make you a blessing to others today, and you will be blessed as well.

Prayer Thought

Whoever you are and wherever you are along the road of life, if you get serious with God, you are going to see things you never dreamed possible. The man who builds on the Rock, is going to have to do some digging.

November 8

LAYING ASIDE
HINDRANCES

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.

People who are going to participate in a race will remove any extra weight that is not necessary, because they realize it will slow them down. In the high mountains of the Andes, extra weight becomes more critical, because the airplane could crash into the mountains before it becomes airborne. This is also true with the Believer, the higher you want to soar with the Lord, the more you need to drop off different things others may call acceptable. This must not be an occasional thing, but must become a lifestyle. God is calling you to pursue a higher standard, because He wants His power to flow through you unrestricted, to enable you to help others in their time of need.

Prayer Thought

Believe and act as if it were impossible to fail, for with God’s help you will not fail. If you want to be a part of a sure producer, you need to make sure that you are projecting God’s Word.

OVERCOMING
BAD HABITS

John 15:16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.

Many feel it’s impossible to not do something wrong at least once during the day. The above verse says the exact opposite. Jesus states, “Whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.” Whatever includes asking Him to enable you to turn down every temptation that comes your way today. Don’t think of it as a complete day, but think of it as segments of time when added together making up a day. Can you keep from doing something wrong for the next thirty minutes? The answer is yes, with the help of the Lord. Ask the Lord to help you, and then expect to see complete victory through every thirty minute period of the day.

Prayer Thought

Jesus has given you all the authority and power to stomp on sin and sickness and every other demonic thing in the earth. Put the works of Satan under your feet, Ephesians 1:23.

JUSTIFIED BY GOD’S FAVOR

Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

It’s totally impossible for any of you to be worthy of redemption, because in the eyes of the Lord, all your righteousness is as filthy rags, Isaiah 64:6. The basis for self-righteousness has been removed. You receive redemption because of God’s divine favor, which is freely given to all who believe. God even gives you the type of faith needed to receive salvation, see Ephesians 2:8,9. He gives you the ability to live for Him, providing you depend on His Word and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. You are not to try to live a Christian life, but remember that the Holy Spirit enables you to accomplish this. The more you permeate your spirit with the Word of God, the easier it is to live for Him. Spend time in His Word today, asking Him to direct you to what to read. Next apply His word to your life, expecting Him to honor His promises.

Prayer Thought

It you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything. The choices of habit are generally too small to be felt until they’re too strong to be broken. Take care that your habits are God based!

November 11

ACCESS TO HIS FAVOR

Romans 5:2 Through whom also we have access by faith into this grace (God’s favor) in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Living in holiness enables you to have access to God’s divine favor for your life. There are some who are not living in holiness, but say they are blessed. They may be reaping the efforts of hard work, or seed they planted, but that does not mean they are receiving God’s approval. Living in holiness will bring God’s favor, and will also enable you to keep the hope of the glory of God for yourself. This divine hope is an earnest expectation of what God has in store for you in the near future. He has a future prepared for you, and does not want you to become discouraged if you don’t see the answers immediately. Regardless of the circumstances you find yourself in, remain convinced that God is going to meet your need, because He loves you. Expect to see victory soon.

Prayer Thought

If you can’t trust God and His Word, who and what CAN you trust? Luke 1:37, “For every promise from God shall surely come true.” - The Living Bible.

November 12

RECEIVING GOD’S
FAVOR IN VAIN

2 Corinthians 6:1 We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain.

The first favor God has made available to us is Salvation. The Lord wants to save everyone, but not everyone is willing to accept it, and live for Him. Those who turn down the gift of Salvation are inferring that it was provided in vain. The next great favor God has, is meeting our needs on a continual basis. Many Believers frantically come to the Lord in prayer during the time of need, but after it has been met forget to thank Him, or live for Him. God’s favor will finally stop, because He sees that it is being treated lightly and not really appreciated. Start counting the blessing you have recently received, then praise and thank Him for them. As you remember them, you will be able to remind others of what God has done for you, which will show His faithfulness.

Prayer Thought

Living in Christ - Life is a daily journey. Let your life consistently reflect Him in ALL you do. Being a Christian isn’t a destination; it’s a lifelong journey.

CHRIST YOUR HEALER
Psalm 103:3 Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases.

Sickness came into the world because of sin in the Garden of Eden. When a person sins he breaks fellowship with God, but sickness doesn’t break fellowship with Him. Many people have been greatly blessed when visiting a godly sick person. The sick person was a very spiritual help to the visitor, because sickness is not a sin. Jesus paid for your healing at Calvary, because 1 Peter 2:24 states: “Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed.” James 5:14 states: “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up.” Receive healing from Him today. It’s not maybe, it’s a promise.

Prayer Thought

God never puts sickness on our bodies. By disobedience and carelessness we become ill, but God provides the answer in His Word. God’s Word will not work for you unless you apply it.

to you from His Spirit to your spirit.

Communication with God starts with worship, where you open the door to allow the Holy Spirit to minister to you. He will speak to your spirit, which will relay the message to your mind, and this puts the rest of the body into action. Your spirit must be in tune with the Spirit of God in order to receive communication from Him. The closer you walk with the Lord, the easier it will be for you to recognize His voice. Start getting closer to Him through worship today.

Prayer Thought

Don’t ask for trouble by placing yourself in the path of evildoers. You are in the world, but you don’t have to be of it. Follow God’s way as He says, “This is the way, walk ye in it.”
