| I have an exotic bow hunt coming up the weekend of February 10, 2012. It is a low fence ranch owned by a friend and he said the aoudad are taking over, so needs some help thinning them out. I'd like to get one with a bow, so wish me luck.
He said there may be a chance at Axis, Sika, and Blackbuck.
I'm already staying awake at night thinking of the hunt! Hopefully, I'll have some pictures to post.

| Yeah.........Buddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sounds like plenty of game to choose from, You should do well !!!!
I know all the deer types that you named are pretty good table fare.
But I am not sure about the sheep, Can you eat Aoudad???????

| I hear the aoudad are tough. I'm searching for a anatomical chart of the aoudad for shot placement. I hear you have to aim more forward for their vitals - especially with a bow. | |

| Thanks, RD. I've seen a lot of posts about where to hit them, but no pictures.
From the sound of some of those guys, I'll need a .50 cal. We'll see!

| Hunting update: Weedend ended with no arrows flying. My buddy, who was rifle hunting saw Aoudad and Axis every morning and evening. I did see a nice 160+ Whitetail that gave me a perfect shot, but IT'S NOT WHITETAIL SEASON! Just my luck. Also, saw a BUNCH of pigs, but none in bow range except the one that come from behind my pop-up blind (the side with the windows closed) and ran into it ca...using it to collapse on me. Both of us ran off squealing. I don't know who got more scared, me or the big boar. Anyway, I had lots of fun enjoying God's wonderful creation with a great brother in Christ. Woke up this morning in camp with snow falling like crazy.

| The place is near Camp Wood, Leaky, Barksdale. We actually passed the Tompson Temple Ranch where BMarshall goes on his ram hunts. It's about 15 miles from there.
They have 500 acres for sale now at $600/acre, which is a good price, but still way to expensive for my budget.

| I drew on a hog the first day, but got busted because I wasn't in a blind - just sitting in brush. You're right, Cull....Luckily I had time to go back to the cabing to change shorts. | |

| I kind of thought the hills in the background looked familiar.. that whole region looks like that. Sounds like you had fun !!
I won't be going to Thompson's place this year. Neck issues have gotten worse and most likely will be needing surgery, if it can be fixed.
Should get my painted Desert ram back within a month or two..
