Dang Reddog You got a whole lot of hogs at that place!! Wich lease is this ??

First pics are from pleasntion Tx.......The last three are from lulling Tx. lease....notice the difference in the way the hogs look the hogs in Lulling have a lot more Russia boar mixed in .........

Is there a difference in the taste??

yea we went out and got us a nice little sow and she was so much better that that big boar we took, I like the looks of those one you took the pics of that had the shorter hair. Forgot the name, not the russian, the other,.

Feral Hogs..........Very few full blooded Russian boar left in Texas most are crossed now ...i killed my share of them tho when i was a kid , There coal black with big tusk and you never walk around the pasture with an unloaded gun. Lots of times in the old days when we walk two miles to get to the blind you would walk in on them in the dark ...not a good feeling!!!...... I found out one of the best defense you had was your flashlight... they did not like the flashlight and ran away...

I always forget my flashlight so I use a muzzle flash-light!! haha

One of these days I am going to get around and make one of those big steel boxes where I can just throw a whole piggy in there and cover with coals, go back and hunt some more and come back and have a nice meal ready to go. Any one have used a hot box before? Like , dislike?

Never tried a hot box or seen one....................Interested though

We got a black box call a BBQ pit ....We load it up with with hog,deer,chicken and chickin gizzards, about 2pm set at about 250* and head to the deer blind.....cant wait till it gets dark ....dang good eatin!!!....

I always wonder what would happen walking up on a big Russian boar in the dark and taking a shot and missed...the big boars dont always run away...
