CALAVERAS LAKE REDFISH......

My dad caught these redfish out of calaveras lake this last summer....

Thats some nice fish right there !! I never get time to fish any more.

Yes...Both Calaveras and braunig lake both have them ..Two very hot fishing spots during the summer time ...the hotter the water the better!!!

interesting, i know the reds my father in law bring back from the coast are awsome. I guess these would be close to the same dont ya think?

Yes sir might even be a little better tasting i like them both and the size limit on freshwater is.......minimum length limit=20 inches and daily bag=3 and no maximum length limit. so anything over 20" is a legal fish when in saltwater its 20-28"

Stupid ? here., Do you have to tag these as you do with the salt?

No Sir only the salt water reds over 28" and dont forget to sent your use tag in to the TPW and they will issue you a new one...

I wish I knew this sooner! I used my tag on a 41"er this past October. Heck the tag went with the tail into the trash! LOL

Red drum special regulation: During a license year, one red drum over the stated maximum length limit may be retained when affixed with a properly completed Red Drum Tag and one red drum over the stated maximum length limit may be retained when affixed with a properly completed Bonus Red Drum Tag. Any fish retained under authority of a Red Drum Tag or a Bonus Red Drum Tag may be retained in addition to the daily bag and possession limit as stated in this section.
